The Blue Coats came into the game against the Windy City Bulls without top scorer Marial shayok as he was recalled to the Sixers hours before the game. The Bulls are coming into this game on a five game losing streak.
Another thing to note, Koumadje is coming off an impressive 18 point, 20 rebound, 12 block game in a win against the Bayhawks.
The Blue Coats started the game out hot shooting 71% from the field and 6/8 from three point land helping them which allowed them to hop out to an early lead in the start of 1st quarter. The Blue Coats went on a cold stretch to end the 1st quarter allowing the Bulls to take a 1st quarter lead 32-29.
The Blue Coats offense looked stagnant to begin the second half as the Bulls started the 2nd quarter on a 14-3 run.
Koumadje picked up a technical foul in the 2nd quarter and next thing you know the Coats find themselves down 19. He is definitely not a first time offender.
Coach said when asked about Koumadje’s technical fouls being a concern “We give our guys goals for the last five games rebounding, getting assists, limiting turnovers, and his was just no technical fouls. His one goal we didn’t get through.”
The Blue Coats at halftime found themselves down 54-65 with 12 turnovers and only one trip to the free throw line. One upside was that Brownridge had six threes in the first half.
The 3rd quarter was all Windy City as the Blue Coats turnovers to continue to be ending the game with 24.The lead at one point was at 24 but, by the time the Blue Coats 6-0 run hit at the end of the 3rd the lead only sat at 14. Eventually, coming back towards the end of the 4th to make it 8. The Bulls were too much as a Blossomgame three with about a minute left put them up 11 and capped the game for Windy City.
Jaron Blossomgame ended with 26 points and 16 rebounds. Xavier Munford praised his game saying “He’s a great player, he’s physical, can play many different positions, can drive and shoot a little bit. We didn’t match that energy tonight.”
The Blue Coats just couldn’t pull away as Windy City was lighting it up shooting it just below 40% from three for the game which is a big jump from their season average of just 35.6%.
This is the first time that the Blue Coats have dropped a home game since January 10th against the Grand Rapid Drive. The Blue Coats will look to bounce back from this home loss against The College Park Skyhawks Friday at 7PM ET in Atlanta.
